Tim and Baby

This morning, Timothy and Alaina were in bed with mom, who was exhausted after helping Jeremy with a science fair project until 1am.

We talked about how they're growing up too fast, and I need to get all the hugs and kisses I can before he gets too old and doesn't like them any more.  Timothy said "Don't worry, we have a new baby coming right here."  and he pointed to Becky's tummy.

Then, very quietly, Timothy leaned in and whispered in my ear:  "Do you know why we're having a baby?"

"No, we don't Timothy, why?"

He then whispers so quietly I can barely hear when he leans in:  "Because, you're not allergic to it!"


[Becky has said the cat can't come in the house because she's allergic to the cat, but she hasn't said anything about that for weeks.]

Wanna See Mom's Belly?

At the dinner table today, Timothy, age 3, said, "Hey everyone, wanna see mom's belly?  But not you, Dad--you close your eyes!  Okay, everyone here goes--but it's really fat.  (He pulls up her shirt so everyone at the table can see)  See now?  Okay, Dad, you can open your eyes.  Dad do you want to see now?  See!"

Then, he blows on her tummy making noises with his lips.

Snow on May 25!

We woke up to snow that continued until it looked just like winter!  We just had to make a snowman with Alaina, Timothy, and Wesley!  Alaina helped until we finished--then went inside and she took this picture from inside.

Our poor trees--they managed to survive without broken branches probably only because they were so young.

Lost Tooth!

Alaina lost her first tooth today.   She was so excited about the tooth fairy!  She's convinced it's Mom and Dad, but had a lot of fun making a note for the tooth fairy.  What an angel!

Conference Quotes

I've sometimes been frustrated that I invest so many hours into watching conference, feel generally inspired, but rarely remember much specific from the actual sessions.

So, periodically, I've selected a few quotes that I can tape up around the house, by the computer, inside cabinets, next to bathroom mirrors, or wherever I can see them regularly and remember the key messages.

My selection of these quotes is in a google doc here. I probably won't use all of them at once, but will pick a few and maybe rotate some--depending on how many places I can find around the house to stick them without making the place look trashy.

Pinewood Champions!

Jeremy and Wesley both won in the Pinewood Derby tonight! Wesley's Orange racer was fastest overall, and Jeremy's Black Bullet won Fastest Webelos.

Although they didn't give the awards, we're pretty sure Jeremy was 2nd fastest overall. He never lost except when he came in just barely behind Wesley.
Now that we've had some practice--10 cars now--we are learning some good tricks.

Robert's car was a fancy red and blue detailed car. It was unofficial, since he's not a cub scout, but in after-race tests, he tied exactly with the 1st place cub car (Wesley).

Robert completely made and designed this by himself.

Family Night--Plan of Salvation

During Jeremy's excellent family night lesson he shared an object lesson that involved muddy water and dirt, about how we should keep ourselves unpoluted from the world.

He explained how we were clean, before, in the premenstrual life.   After listening several times to make sure I was hearing correctly, Becky and I had a great laugh!
